 Call for Papers

In the last decades of the XX and the beginning of the XXI century the sharp development took place in all the spheres of social life as politics and legal area, business and administration, culture and art, science and economy, medicine and tourism. Therefore constant changing and supplementing new information and its great inflow forced people having a good command of foreign languages to constant learning, expanding their knowledge to different subjects and constant personal development. Not only new conditions of life have appeared but also new concepts and issues, terms and definitions. They all opened new doors for specialized translators and interpreters who perform a special role, in many cases even crucial role, in this new Globalized World. Most people in the present world speak one or two foreign languages. This is not only the merit of learning but mostly the merit of travelling as we are still facing the issue of the global tourism nowadays, too. Many people consider erroneously: in the world where lots of people speak foreign languages, where English is dominant, the role of translators/interpreters decreases. Surprisingly, the above mentioned statement has nothing in common with the truth and reality because of the fact that the specialized, sworn or legal translators’ / interpreters’ key role is increasing and accompanying arising need for specialized translation in the Globalized World.

Our conference aims at addressing mainly, but not exclusively, the issues of specialized translations and interpretations in politics, economy, business, administration, justice, medicine, tourism etc. The organizers are looking forward to diverse papers. One of the discussion panels is considered to emphasize tourism and medical tourism translations/interpretations (cultural issues in the translation of guidebooks, tourism-related websites; travel-related translation for tourism and businesses; medicine and insurance translations; hospitality and tourism services translations).

Abstracts (in English) are welcome for oral presentations (20 minutes plus 10 minutes’ discussion).
